Project

Implementation of Favorite Product Lists at Linio

Role

UX Lead, responsible for research, design, and overseeing the implementation of favorite product lists

Date

July 2023 - December 2023

Summary

Elevating shopping experience through personalization

In the second half of 2023, Linio aimed to enhance the shopping experience on its platform by allowing users to save and organize their favorite products. The implementation of favorite product lists enabled users to add products from both the Product Listing Page (PLP) and the Product Detail Page (PDP), create personalized collections, share lists with others, and receive recommendations based on their favorite products. These enhancements not only increased user engagement but also improved product visibility and interaction with the brand.

User flows

User flows designed for different scenarios of adding products to the wishlist—tailored to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience.

Challenge

Transforming user engagement in a competitive market

Before this project, Linio users lacked an efficient way to save and organize products of interest. The absence of a well-developed favorites feature led to a less intuitive user experience and lower engagement with the platform. Furthermore, without the ability to share product lists, Linio was missing a valuable opportunity to increase brand visibility and generate organic traffic.

Key problems included:

  • Inability to save interesting products for later review.
  • Lack of organization for saved products in collections or lists.
  • Absence of a feature to share product lists with other users.
  • No personalized recommendations based on favorite products.
  • Difficulty accessing and managing favorite products within user accounts.

The primary users were online shoppers looking for an easy and organized way to track products of interest and share them with friends and family. Business requirements included increasing user engagement, improving customer retention, and fostering traffic and brand visibility.

Solution

Innovative features for a seamless experience

To address these challenges, the following solutions were implemented:

  1. Add to Favorites from PLP and PDP: Users were given the option to add products to their favorites directly from the PLP and PDP, making it easier to create favorite lists.
  2. Creation of Product Lists: Users could now create personalized collections of favorite products, allowing them to group and organize items according to their preferences and needs.
  3. Sharing Favorite Lists: The ability to share favorite product lists with other users was introduced. This increased product visibility, generated more traffic to the platform, and fostered engagement and conversation around Linio’s products.
  4. Personalized Recommendations: Based on the products saved in favorite lists, personalized recommendations were implemented, enhancing the relevance and customization of the shopping experience.
  5. Dedicated Favorites Section in "My Account": A dedicated section was created within "My Account" to manage favorite lists. Additionally, a direct access link was included in the website header and app navigation bar for easier access.

Gabriel consistently pushed the team toward continuous product improvement and encouraged the ongoing growth of each team member, supporting every proposal. He is someone who manages projects and timelines effectively, bases his design decisions on metrics, aligns with business goals, and creates products that deliver value.
